Filipino Fun and Games on Show at Stoppested Verden Children's Festival in Norway

Festival-goers at the Stoppested Verden festival try the tinikling

02 June 2018, Oslo – The Philippine Embassy teamed up with Filipino volunteers to bring the fun at the Stoppested Verden children and youth festival in Hamar, Norway.

Children and adults alike gamely attempted the tinikling, the Philippines’ national dance. Also at the Philippine booth for visitors to try were the board game sungka, coloring books featuring Philippine travel destinations, and a sampling of Filipino snacks and souvenirs.

The Stoppested Verden has taken place annually in the town of Hamar, considered Norway’s inland capital, since 2008. It is now the largest children’s festival in Norway and aims to promote appreciation for multicultural diversity. In the celebration, Vice Consuls Jahzeel Abihail G. Cruz and Christiansen D. Cabahug and Ms. Rowena D. Garcia represented the Philippine Embassy in Oslo. END
