Senator Recto Holds Dialogue with the Filipino Community in Norway

Senator Recto explains the HEARTS program of his advocacy and legislative agenda, which stands for Health, Education, Agriculture, Roads, Tourism and Security.

Oslo, 30 October 2018 – Senate President Pro Tempore, Senator Ralph G. Recto met with the Filipino community in Norway on October 27, 2018, at the Philippine Embassy in Oslo. The event was attended by members of various Filipino organizations in Norway. During her welcome remarks, Ambassador Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia acknowledged the presence of the different Filipino organizations and members of the Filipino community in Norway.

In his remarks, Senator Recto updated the members of the Filipino community in Norway about the latest developments in the Philippines, including the good news about the booming economy and recent laws passed by Congress that will benefit Filipinos like the universal access to health care and free education in state universities and colleges. The Senator also answered questions from the Filipino community about further programs and laws which will address concerns of Filipino professionals in Norway, and deal with the development gap in the Philippines.
