Attendees during the farewell reception of Philippine Honorary Consul General in Copenhagen, Mr. Poul Krogh
07 January 2019, Copenhagen – Philippine Ambassador to Denmark Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia hosted a farewell reception with friends in the Danish diplomatic and business circles in honor of long-time Philippine Honorary Consul General in Copenhagen, Mr. Poul Krogh. Ambassador Batoon-Garcia lauded Honorary Consul General Krogh’s contributions to advancing Philippines-Denmark political and economic relations. The Ambassador also recognized the Consulate General’s tireless assistance to Filipinos in distress in Denmark over the years.
A Certificate of Appreciation from the Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs was presented to Honorary Consul General Krogh, in June 2018, in recognition of his ten years of service to the Filipino community in Denmark. The presentation was conducted by Amb. Batoon-Garcia and Consul General Maria Elena P. Algabre during the farewell reception for the leaders of the Filipino community. The farewell reception on 07 January 2019 was held to thank Danish Government Officials and business community for the support that they had extended to the Honorary Consulate General.
Mr. Krogh, a successful businessman in Denmark, has held the position of Philippine Honorary Consul General, in Copenhagen, since 18 November 2008.
Attendees at the reception were also introduced to Ms. Ma. Antonina Mendoza-Oblena, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General, and Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the soon-to-open Philippine Embassy in Copenhagen. With the opening of the Philippine Embassy in Copenhagen this January 2019, Amb. Batoon-Garcia will cease to be Ambassador to Denmark. She remains as the Philippine Ambassador to Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. END
