COVID-19 PUBLIC ADVISORY NO. 2: ON THE PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT’S MEASURES TO MANAGE THE SITUATION ON THE 2019 NOVEL CORONAVIRUS

PUBLIC ADVISORY: ON THE PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT’S MEASURES TO MANAGE THE SITUATION ON THE 2019 NOVEL CORONAVIRUS

Further to the public advisory on the Temporary Suspension of Visa Issuance to Travelers from China and its Special Administrative Regions, the Philippine Embassy in Oslo informs the public of the following measures implemented by the Philippine government to manage the situation on the 2019 Novel Coronavirus:

  1. Temporarily banning the entry of any person, regardless of nationality, except Filipino citizens and holders of Permanent Resident Visa issued by the Philippine Government, directly coming from China and its Special Administrative Regions (Hong Kong and Macau);
  1. Temporarily banning the entry of any person, regardless of nationality, except Filipino citizens and holders of Permanent Resident Visa issued by the Philippine Government, who within fourteen (14) days immediately preceding arrival in the Philippines, has been to China and its Special Administrative Regions (Hong Kong and Macau);
  1. A mandatory fourteen (14) day quarantine for Filipinos and Permanent Resident Visa holders coming from any place in China and its Special Administrative Regions (Hong Kong and Macau); and
  1. Temporary ban on Filipinos from travel from the Philippines to China and its Special Administrative Regions (Hong Kong and Macau). 

Foreign nationals with visa-free entry privileges to the Philippines, falling under above-mentioned categories, are likewise covered by the temporary travel ban imposed by the Philippine Government.

Permanent Resident Visa holders include persons with Special Resident Retiree's Visa, Special Investor's Resident Visa, Non-Quota Immigrant Visa for a former Filipino citizen naturalized in a foreign country (13G) and for spouses of Filipino Citizens (13A).

Members of the diplomatic corps are exempted from the temporary travel ban with regard to mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, subject to mandatory 14-day self-quarantine.
