COVID-19 PUBLIC ADVISORY NO. 9: TRAVEL ADVISORIES ISSUED BY NORDIC COUNTRIES

UPDATE 3: As of 20 March 2020, UDI has announced that those in Norway now on a visitor’s visa, a visa free permit, or on a residency permit, and are not able to travel out of Norway before the expire date due to the COVID-19 outbreak will not be expelled, even though their stay lasts longer than their visa or residency permit. Please refer to the UDI's announcement for more information: https://www.udi.no/en/important-messages/information-to-foreign-nationals-that-can-not-travel-out-of-norway-due-to-the-corona-virus-outbreak/

UPDATE 2: On 17 March 2020, the European Union announced that non-essential travel to the Schengen area, which includes Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, will be restricted for a period of 30 days in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 globally. Details of the scope and duration of these measures are available here: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?gid=1584633143987&uri=CELEX:52020DC0115

UPDATE 1: The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) has announced that extensions of visas for non-Norwegians still in Norway are not possible at this time. We advise all Filipinos with expiring or expired visas who are still in Norway to return to the Philippines on any available remaining flight if possible, so as not to overstay their visa.
