In the coming weeks, the Embassy will be the temporary home of these fashionable Filipiniana pieces created by Norway-based Filipino artist Mayeth Sigue Codoy. Mayeth is the owner of the MYET brand which features Filipiniana clothes made from abaca or Manila hemp, a fiber endemic to the Philippines.
Born and raised in Balamban, Cebu, Mayeth started her journey in Norway as an au pair then as a fashion design student at the Esmod International Fashion School in Oslo, an affiliate of the Esmod International Fashion School in Paris.
This September, Mayeth’s Filipiniana collection will be shown at the Paris Fashion Week, a testament to her talent, hard work, and sheer determination to pursue her dreams.
Mayeth hopes to inspire our kababayans in Norway to not only dream big but also to persevere and work doubly hard to achieve their dreams.
We encourage everyone to support Mayeth and view her creative pieces at: @myet.no
