Philippine Ambassador Visits Trondheim

The Ambassador with the Piamonte and Lillebordal families (24 December 2019)

On the invitation from members of the Filipino Community in Trondheim, Ambassador Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia visited Trondheim during the 2019 Christmas season. This was the first visit of the Ambassador to Trondheim, the fourth largest city in Norway and the neighboring town of Melhus. Trondheim is in the center of Norway and is home to several hundred Filipinos.

Ambassador Batoon-Garcia attended a private Mass officiated by Father Marcos de los Trinos on Christmas Day. She exchanged views with Filcom members who had long established ties with the Norwegian City. They shared their experiences in Norwegian society and expressed their readiness to support the various activities of the Philippine Embassy in Oslo.

The Ambassador expressed her profound appreciation to her hosts for their promotion of Filipino culture in Metro Trondheim and support to the Filipinos in the area.  They agreed to remain in close communication. The Ambassador committed to visit Trondheim with a Consular Team in 2020. END
