17 October 2019 - Ambassador Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia met with members of the Philippine Boards of Medicine and Nursing. They had extensive discussions on the various functions of the two boards and how they could address the various concerns of the Filipinos in the medical and nursing professions in the countries where the Ambassador is accredited, namely Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
The Board of Medicine and Board of Nursing are two of the forty-three (43) Professional Regulatory Boards under the Philippine Professional Regulatory Commission. The two Boards prepare the contents of licensure examinations…determine, prescribe, and revise the course requirements, as well as recommend measures for the improvement and advancement of the medical and nursing professions. The Boards exercise administrative, quasi-legislative, and quasi-judicial powers over their respective professions.
