5 February 2020, Helsinki –  Filipino community (Filcom) leaders in Finland spent another evening of smiles and sharing as the Philippine Embassy in Oslo invited them for a dinner at Paisano, Helsinki’s newest and award-winning Filipino restaurant.

Ambassador Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Mariel Algabre, Minister Raul Dado of the soon-to-open Philippine Embassy in Stockholm, and Honorary Consul General Jyrki Kupila of the Philippine Consulate General in Helsinki.   The Filcom  leaders welcomed the good news  from the Philippine Embassy, such as   the continuing healthy economy of the Philippines; the Embassy’s programs to promote the orderly employment of Filipino nurses and skilled  workers in Finland; the Philippine Government’s active and timely measures to address the situation of the corona virus, including the protection of overseas Filipinos;   the opening of the Philippine Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden; and  the announcement of the Finnish government to open an Embassy in Manila. The warm gathering was made lovelier with  the delicious and creative Filipino dishes prepared by the chefs of Paisano restaurant. END
